Islam does not approve of monastic life. It came to securejustice and the wellbeing of mankind, but warns people againstover-indulgence. “The offerings given for the sake of God are [meant] only for thepoor and the needy, and those who are in charge thereof, [I.e., theofficials entrusted with the collection and administration of zakahfunds.] and those whose hearts are to be won over, and for thefreeing of human beings from bondage, and [for] those who areover-burdened with debts, and [for every struggle] in God's cause, and [for] the wayfarer: [this is] an ordinance from God - and God isall-knowing, wise.”-Al Quran 9:60GAMBLING AND INTOXICATING DRINKS:Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), forbade usury andinterest on money lending. Usury eats away wealth and destroysthe economic systems throughout history. Yet, just as in theteachings of the prophets of old, Prophet Muhammad (peace andblessings be upon him), held that such practices were most evil andmust be avoided in order to be at peace with the Creator (God). Those who eat usury (deal in interest) will not stand (on the Day ofResurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Satanleading him to insanity. That is because they say: "Trading is onlylike usury," whereas God has permitted trading and forbiddenusury. So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord andstops eating usury shall not be punished for the past; his case is forGod (to judge); but whoever returns to dealing in usury, such arethe dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. God will destroyRiba (usury) and will give increase for charity, alms, etc. And Godlikes not the disbelievers, sinners. Truly those who believe, and dodeeds of righteousness, and perform Salat, and give Zakat, theywill have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, norshall they grieve.

And if you do not do it,then take a notice of war from God and His Messenger but if yourepent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly, andyou shall not be dealt with unjustly.”- Al Quran, 2: 275-279Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), did not allow gamblingand intoxicating drinks (alcohol). The idea of getting something fornothing is not the proper way of life prescribed by the teachings ofProphet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is well establishedthe damage gambling causes to families and even mental health. The alcohol causing diseases, losing the consciousness, and ruininga person's health is often attributed to be the cause of many trafficaccidents resulting in property damage, injuries and deaths. Thefirst order was for the followers of Prophet (peace and blessings beupon him) to leave off drinking while engaged in worship, thencame stronger orders to leave drinking all together.
