Build strong, professional relationships with families and children. Lead educators to support children and their families during orientation, drop off and pick up times and significant dates or events. Engage and interact with children at their physical level. Extend children’s thinking and learning through intentional teaching strategies, inspiring environments, spontaneous play experiences and high-quality documentation. Use positive guidance strategies to support children’s behaviour. Ensure children are always adequately supervised to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Encourage children’s independent involvement in daily routines such as toileting, eating, dressing, and sleeping, and ensure these times are positive, and meet each child’s individual requirements. Ensure children are dressed appropriately for all learning environments (indoor and outdoor). Maintain a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment. Remove and report any dangerous or broken equipment to the Centre Manager in a timely manner. Perform first aid when necessary and follow all policies and procedures

Mentor and support all educators within the learning environment to ensure the highest quality practice. Family Communication Actively build respectful, meaningful, and reciprocal relationships with families. Respond to families’ questions and concerns by addressing issues in a timely manner and reporting back to Centre Manager/Group Leader. Encourage and provide opportunities for family collaboration. Establish open channels of verbal and written communication with families and fellow team members. Ensure Story park is updated for all children regularly, in line with company expectations. Ensure practices align with Guardian’s Environmental Sustainability strategy. Team Communication Observe, communicate with and be aware of other educators in the education, care and supervision of children. Ensure room duties are completed during the day and the indoor and outdoor learning spaces are ready for the following day and running effectively. Attend and contribute to Team Meetings and professional learning opportunities.  Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of centre operations. Behaves in an appropriate manner which promotes team co-operation. Ensure regulatory reports and supporting documentation is completed accurately by educators. Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviours Functional / Technical 1. Certificate 3 or Diploma level qualification in early years’ education (depending on the role)
