Conclusion It is important for health care organizations, physicians and providers to understand the healthcare laws and regulations which impact the healthcare industry and protect the patients privacy. The medical provider must plan a course of action in regards to patient medical records. They must keep the records in a secure encrypted manner. They must provide the staff with education and full instructions on how to implement and set the stage of retrieval of this information. This is important not only to the organization but also for the protection and confidentiality of patient. As healthcare information continues to evolve there must be better monitoring and security put in place to protect the identifiable patient health care information and right to privacy as regulated under federal, state and local statues.
