they believe that successful completion will provide a path to a valuable goal. Leaders play an intricate role in influencing follower perception of tasks path and goal desirability. In Mr. Jakes case since he slacked on his work his followers did the same. They would turn in assignments late or not at all. So it is Mr. Jakes responsibility to communicate with his followers what is expected of them and what rewards they can anticipate when they have successfully finished the tasks they have been assigned. Take, for example, his five children. How might Mr. Jakes apply the path-goal theory to his children? If he wants them to clean their rooms or he wants them to ace an exam he can reinforce that with a money incentive or allowing them to go out with their friends. This will increase their motivation and make them satisfy the request. He can apply this same principle to his workers. If they complete their work on time and it is done correctly he can pose an incentive for them. For example they can get a raise if they complete 10 assignments on time that are highly developed and innovative. The leader has to lead by example. If they see Mr. Jakes completing his assignments on time they will follow I n his footsteps.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
