CAREER PLANNING PAPER 4 Working with your Bachelor’s Degree In order to be an advisor, you must have your master’s degree so working specifically as an advisor is not possible with your bachelor’s degree. You could possibly work in a related field until obtaining your master’s degree. Personally, I would work in mental health counselling until I could obtain my master’s in counselling since I would be getting my bachelor’s degree in psychology. Employers are looking for reliable, responsible, and flexible people when hiring for advisors. A bachelor’s degree in psychology requires me to learn how to be these three things through classes I take or internships I go for. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
