I find it highly offensive to see Jesus as the foundation for life and meaning. Christianity makes
up about roughly one-third of the world’s religion. Among that one-third, Judaism in particular
do not share the same belief as other major Christian religions. Judaism does not believe Jesus is
the son of God and be worshipped as God. Jews, according to the Holy Bible, and God’s people.
Yet most do not believe in Christ as their savior. Christianity itself is in a state of flux. You the
Mormons who believes in Joseph smith, the Seventh Day Adventist who mostly worshipped
Ellen G white, and the latest development is the non-denominations who are mostly concerned
about building Mega Churches.
STEP 3
Have your answers to either of the last two questions changed after reading article 3?
I understand article 3 as if I am in Christ I am self-righteous. If I am not, I cannot be self-
righteous. Similarly to the first two article, I can only do goods, find meaning of life, and be self-
righteous only in Christianity. If I am not a “Christian”, my life is meaningless and I can’t do no
good deeds outside of selfish desires. Only in Christ I can do all of those things and find the
meaning of life. No, my answers have not changed. As a matter of fact, I am more assured of my
answers.
Now that you’ve read all of the articles, how has your view of meaning, ethics and your own
worldview changed?
What questions or comments do you have about what you’ve read?

PERSONAL WORLDVIEW & BUSINESS ETHICS

The articles have not changed my view. I still hold that religion has no place in the
corporate world, and I would go as far to say in the world. The article just re-emphasizes my
view point that religion creates division and prejudice. As a result, you have zealots flying plane
into buildings and killings innocents in the name of religion. The overall take away from the
article is be a Christian or your life is meaningless and you cannot do any good deeds.

ethical ideas to business behavior” (pp. 70).
An organization’s values, management philosophy
and ethics in business respectively can potentially have significant impact how on well a
business performs long term [Inv15]
Luke 6:31 tells to do to others as you would have them do to you. Synovus Financial
Corporation is founded on the simple principle found in Luke 6:31. It is known today as the
golden rule. The core values of the company is to do what is right and take care of your people
and everything else will take care of itself. Servant style leadership is prevalent throughout the
company. Similar to Jesus and His disciples during the last super. In John Chapter 13, Jesus
washed His disciples’ feet and explained to them what it means to be a servant leader. He
