When I was in my early 20s, I met a man who apparently was trying very hard to impress me, because he was telling me that he had a truck, a car, a motorcycle, a boat and a private pool w/a jacuzzi at his place. After I agreed to date him, I discovered his "place" was an apartment complex with a community pool and jacuzzi. I thought it was interesting your opinion on whether persuasion is used in every form of communication or not. I believed that it isn't but reading your respond causes me to back up and think about it perhaps a little more. Persuasion is just trying to alter someones thoughts or actions to what you want them to be. The components of persuasion include logos, ethos, and pathos. In other words, it requires you to use logic to reason an argument, prove your ethics so your audience will trust you, and you will play on the emotions of your audience in order to persuade. I do not believe that persuasion is found in all communication transactions, but I believe it is found in more than we realize. Many people unintentionally are trying to persuade you. I think it can be obvious by the tone of their voice and the way someone words their
