loyalty, friendliness, grouchiness, etc.). Secondary deposition explains why a person may at times exhibit behaviors that seem incongruent with their behaviors (Pervin, 2018). Cattell believed that traits foster stability in behavior across situations , he also recognized that a person's mood (state) and style of self presentation in each situation (role) contribute to behavior. Cattell also believed that it was necessary to sample a wide range of variables to capture a full understanding of personality. Cattell defined the structure of personality in three areas of observation: Life data involves collecting information from an individual’s natural everyday life behavior. Experimental data involves measuring reactions to standardized experimental situations. Questionnaire data gathers response based on introspection by an individual about their own behavior and feelings (Pervin, 2018). Based on his findings from the research, he developed the 16 PF (personality factors). Eysenck believed that traits are biological . His theory was based on three dimensions: extroversion-introversion, neuroticism-stability, and psychoticism- socialization {P.E.N.}. Extraversion organizes lower level traits such as sociability, activity, liveliness, and excitability. Neuroticism organizes traits such as anxious, depressed, shy, and moody. Psychoticism organizes personality traits that, in the extreme, we might label as "abnormal”, aggressiveness, a lack of empathy, interpersonal coldness, antisocial behavioral tendencies (Pervin, 2018).
