3. While teaching her class one day, Theresa suddenly begins having difficulty breathing. Her heart starts pounding wildly, and she feels weak and dizzy. She feels as if she's having a heart attack and is honestly afraid that she's going to die in the next minute or two. (Assume that Theresa is not having a heart attack.) - Panic Disorder - I believe that Theresa has a Panic Disorder because she has this intense feeling and panic that she is going to die in that very moment. She is experiencing few of the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder but has an intense feeling of anxiety. 4. Although Karina was not personally injured in the earthquake, her mother was injured and her house was badly damaged. She has frequent nightmares about earthquakes, and
Meggers, 2 even when awake she sometimes gets flashes as if she's reliving the experience. The slightest noise or movement around her causes her heart to pound rapidly. - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD)/flashbulb memory - K arina is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, due to the fact she was in a traumatic experience. The experience has caused her to re-experience this event whenever something similar happens causing anxiety and stress around situation where she may feel threatened. 5. Jack has been sleeping a lot less lately, but yet he seems to have a lot of energy. His friend was also concerned by his behavior, like last night when he insisted on driving home even though he was drunk. - Bipolar Disorder - Jack may be suffering from bipolar disorder. I believe that he is suffering from this because of his rash and unthought through ideas, along with the drastic changes in behavior. I also believe that his irrational behaviors such as drunk driving coincide with his poor behavior choices.
