There are core issues that make a selection of TLS over SSL worth it when it comes to protection of online resources, with the manner on which TLS was developed being the main reason that leads to its selection. The assertion in this case is that TLS is based on the open community standards, which ensure that it is far more extensible and likely to access future support than SSL (Fischlin, M., Lehmann, A., & Wagner, D. (2010, The main advantage in the use of TLS is the fact that it is backwards compatible in the sense that it has the ability of being scaled to offer security to clients’ side connections that only offer support to SSL. An additional advantage is the fact that TLS allows secure as well as insecure connections over a unitary port, while the design involved in SSL designates only one port to be used in the secure connections only (Fischlin, M., Lehmann, A., & Wagner, D. (2010, At present, I use TLS and remain the model of choice to be used in future. The decision is based on the fact that TLS offers better secure key-hashing for message authentication code than SSL thus ensuring that my records cannot be altered in the course of the transmission over the open networks like the internet (Sounthiraraj, Sahs, Greenwood, Lin, & Khan, 2014).
