ANALYZING THEORIESPart 2: ReflectionMy target population for counseling is with veterans or currently active military, first responders, government agents. The work of trauma and crisis counseling is something I have been drawn to since starting this program, and in my community, there is an overabundance of both homeless veterans and active duty individuals that need assistance. My goals in this demographic would be to work in a treatment or housing facility, alongside the VA and other organizations and make sure that these individuals are getting the proper medical care, housing, educational and counseling services as well as helping to make their transition from a traumatic event or just back to civilian living as positive and constructive as possible for both them and their families. I would also like to be a part of my counties crisis response team and work with those who have just been exposed to trauma, helping them find safety, resources and informationon where to get help. Adlerian Theory would be my choice for this target population as the main focus is on social world and the understanding of mistaken belief in self, others and life (Dufrene et al, 2016).
