When you refer to concepts from the unit’s Learning Activities, be sure to use a signal phrase like “According to . . .[name of reading].” If you are directly quoting the Learning Activities or another source, be sure to use quotation marks and cite the source using proper APA in-text citations and full references. Even though I didn’t get much feedback from the last discussion post, I did make a small change. My new thesis statement is, “Increasing the number of members in the hospital’s CSADD organization, we can increase the number of events held. Therefore, we can help raise more awareness throughout the hospital and the island.” Claim: We need more members of the hospital’s CSADD organization. Warrant: If we don’t increase the number of members in CSADD, we won’t be able to raise as much awareness throughout the island. The first logical appeal that comes to find is logos. This is because of the logic behind my thesis. If we increase members, we increase awareness. However, the opposite is also true. If we aren’t able to increase members, we can’t promote as much awareness. Something to make sure that I avoid would be generalizing. I do think that my audience will agree with my warrant. My audience would be fellow sailors with the hospital. Most people here are wanting to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Giving them a chance to become part of CSADD will be able to give them that and at the same time they will be able to help the CSADD out.
