touch me because we don’t have many people like Charlie in this society today. Charlie’s friends Patrick and Sam are very important in the book and also to Charlie. Patrick and Sam, are great factors in how Charlie grows as an individual. If these characters did not exist it would change the book and the whole setting of the story. Charlie wouldn't have friends, he would’ve felt miserable to be alone and the book would’ve been a bit different since no one's there to help Charlie around and get through the tough times. Patrick and Sam are wonderful people who make Charlie who he is again, kindhearted, trustworthy, and caring and who helps him move forward into better things in life. Since they are the supporting characters of the novel they are a huge part of how the story is being told and held together. The novel is very complex. It shows us that so many unfortunate things happen to so many considerate people and it’s really unfair to all the great people in this society. I think what the author is trying to show us is that everyone is different and we should accept them for who they are because we don’t know what happened in their life in the past because all people have a past that maybe they are trying to run from. Instead of judging on who they are, we should help them on moving forward and making things better. We should understand their past and not judge them based on what we see in them now. And I think that is the message that the book wants to convey and wants us to learn from. All the Characters in the book I thought were unique and different. personally, my favorite character was Patrick, who was one of Charlie’s best friends. Patrick would have to be my favorite character because I really loved that he shows so much respect towards people, especially to Charlie. He always tries to make people feel better and be happy anyway that he possibly could. He does get bullied for being gay and as of today, it is still difficult to not get bullied or judge just for being yourself. But what I liked was that he shows a lot of pain and emotions through the usage of his words and actions. The way that he uses his words and actions really makes me feel the pain that he is going through.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
