Most of the populations reside in towns making Latin America the most urbanized globally. This has impacted the economy positively with cities becoming hubs for technological innovation, infrastructural development, best internet connectivity, better health care and transportation, good communication networks, best trading centers, administrative centers where many organization’s headquarters are to be found and housing major government offices. Over urbanization This occurs when a city's growth is unable to meet its population employment and economic demands. It is caused by factors like rural urban migration due to increased population, economic modernization due to industrialization, political modernization as a result of environmental degradation, population growth and dependency on developed countries.Overurbanization results to economic growth and social changes. The social changes can either be positive or negative. For instance, it may lead to crowding hence housing problems, unemployment rise, social crimes and prostitution. It can also bring people from diverse cultures and regions to the cities. Urban Primacy This is a nerve centre in a city measured in terms of population density and the variety of services offered .It is as a result of urban growth. It shows the ratio between the biggest city and the second biggest city in any given nation. Urban dominance is quantified in terms of the population capacity of the city, number of functions within that city or even size.
