If left untreated, gonorrhea can also spread to the blood and cause disseminated gonococcal infection (DGI). DGI is usually characterized by arthritis, tenosynovitis, and/or dermatitis. This condition can be life threatening” (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017b). Another prominent health issue witnessed in my neighborhood is obesity. In Oceanside, 7.3% of the population is obese (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2018).
