Although any case of cheating is cause forconcern, it is an especially egregious violation in the medical and healthcare trainingfields. Patients trust their healthcare team with the most personal medical concerns andexpect healthcare team members (including health information management personnel) tobe competent and skilled in their area of expertise. This cannot be achieved if cheating orplagiarism is taking place during the educational process. Cheating of any kind in thisfield is an ethical violation and cannot be tolerated.
