- These guys grew in power and have become employed into a billion dollar cartels and can find them all over in American cities and they are a street musseled gang who control territories - People have them in schools - While these gangs originated in LA in the 80s they have ties in the central American countries where they are from and their recruit heavily from the border - They have grown in power so much in the smaller Central americans states (Mexico is a big state: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, not so much; MS13, these gangs bc of the drug trade, they almost run the show in South America over the government (bigger threat over national security)à it’s a well-organized entity - Also consider- seeing immigration (economic immigrants) and leaving central America; real life: 10 of thousands of folks attempt to migrate through central America through Mexico into the United States every year (MS 13 and all the crimiinial gands and the cartels have started attacking these immigrants as a money making advice) - The cartels forcibly take males and enlist them in the army (or we can kill you; rob them and kidnap them) - Some they just kill - 50 or 60 (150-160 people) dead that were victims of gang or cartel activity - Immigration is a huge deal - It’s a lot of folks from Central America; big cities diverse economies
