healthcare policy as nurses have the requisite expertise needed[CITATION GLa14 \l 1033 ]. Besides, nurses are required to ensure prudent use of resources and to provide evidence-based and patient-centered care. Some of the work that nurses do include preventing the development of secondary conditions in addition to promoting health. All these efforts are part of the objectives of the changes in healthcare. With ACA, more services have become available to patients. Services such as obesity counseling are covered under ACA and so is smoking cessation and other services not initially covered. With this, nurses can care for patients better and in a more holistic manner, unlike in the past, where only sick care services were given.
