COURSE TECHNOLOGYCANVASThe Canvas course site is the main portal for all course materials and activities, including the courseSyllabusand a portal toZoom. TheHomepage includes a Course Summary with upcomingassignments with deadlines. I will communicate with the class viaAnnouncements. Weekly classpackets and links to online activities as well as to digital resources (e.g., Ebook, Playlists, Noteflight)are accessible viaModules; assignment details and links to online activities are also available viaAssignments. Two discussion boards have been set-up to facilitate communication between studentsand teaching assistants inDiscussions: “Theory Chat Room” and “I Need Help!” Students can alsoaccess their grades and current average viaGrades.NORTON DIGITAL RESOURCESThe Straus and Burstein’s textbookConcise Introduction to Tonal Harmony(2nded.), is available as anEbookand comes with several onlines resources().The best way to access the resources is through CanvasModules. These resources includePlaylistsfor musical examples (“Text Audio” and “Workbook Audio”), a series of video tutorials (Know It?Tutorials) with integrated practice exercises, graded quizzes on textbook chapters (Show It!Inquizitive), andAssignment Templates(in Noteflight format). All resources except for the Ebook andPlaylists are fully integrated into the course. The Premium version with unlimited scores is availablefor a 30-day free trial, after which you will need to purchase a subscription ($7.95 USD per month,$49 USD per year, or $299 USD for a lifetime subscription). One of the main advantages of usingNoteflight is that the assignment instructions are integrated into each template. It is also user-friendly, has a user guide, and there is a webinar that will provide you with basic instructions on howto use the software beyond completing assignments on the website. I will also be using it during
