know my students by having them complete a slideshow or a media story about who they
are. I share a story about myself as well.
I also feel students should discuss what is being learned as they are learning it. The
students should spend as much time talking in class or through a chat session as I do.
Learning is a social event as well as a private matter. Social learning can sometimes be
difficult with an online class, but necessary to insure that all students learn effectively.
Goals for Students : My goal for the students I teach is for them to become active learners
and not learners who passively float through lectures whether online or in person. Online
students tend to spend less time with the material than they would in an in-person class.
Online classes must not be filled with busy work, but should be presented in a way that is
interesting and meaningful. I also want my students to become life long learners and
consistently look for ways to become better teachers.
My Personal Growth Plan: My personal growth plan consists of continually learning to

reach my students in ways that they will become the best teachers that they can become.
I want to continually research and publish and of course, make a difference in the field of
education.
