years. However, I am going to call out our own school, Sacramento City College, of being a part of the problem. As you know, both our baseball and softball teams at Sac City have had a lot of success this past season. With all the success that both teams have had this season, only one of them are getting the recognition that they deserve. On the main Sac City twitter page, you can see headlines of our boy’s baseball team and their accomplishments, but nowhere do you see anything about our softball team. As a member of the softball team, it frustrates me to see it. Our final record overall was 34 wins and 11 loses. 19 wins and only 2 loses in conference alone. We were the Big 8 conference champions, won regionals, super regionals, and we made a great run in the State tournament. We finished as the 5 th best team in the state of California, with no recognition. Although Sac City is a part of the problem, they are not the only ones who do this. There is plenty of instances of this occurring through the media today. Another example of this just recently occurred. A huge accomplishment from a high school pitcher in New York was bashed by many men on social media. Shannon Becker threw a complete game. It was a perfect game with 21 strikeouts. This is a huge deal; however, many men believe that this is easy. In the comment section of a post on Instagram, you see many men comment things such as “Well yeah, it’s not baseball so this is isn’t a big deal” or another comment read “Get back in the kitchen where you belong.” It is absolutely disgusting to see things like this. Discrimination in some way will always be there. However, with each problem that comes about, rules and people can be put in their place to stop the continuous discrimination. The way to break the continuous cycle is by teaching your sons to treat women with respect. Another way that things could change is by changing these laws of paying women less for doing the exact same thing as a man.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
