Gold Rush. Being from Californai myself, learning about the Gold Rush has always been one of my favorite time periods to learn about. I didn’t expect to learn as much as I did however. This particular unit taught me how many women who moved west, did so to move with their husbands. Many of these women wanted to show their husbands that they were still able to do their normal day to day jobs, even on the road. I had written in that discussion forum that “I also would like to meet Jenny Wimmer, who as a girl would pan for gold in Georgia. Farren 3 husband was soon hired to look over the Indian workers that had been constructing a sawmill. Jenny was the cook. Over the years, Jenny told her tale many times: “The water was entirely shut off and, as they walked along, talking and examining the work, just ahead of them, on a little, rough, muddy rock, lay something looking bright, like gold" (Anchor Brewing). Overall, I think that I would find the California Gold Rush the most interesting place to travel back in time to” (Farren). Lastly, I think my biggest assumption with this course changed when we had to write our Object Evolution Paper, and had to use sources from JSTOR. Although I was able to fly by the PILOT Tutorials at the beginning of the semester, I found it very difficult to use in order to write my paper. My expectations were not that high but as I went on, I found out just how hard it was to find any sources that would work for my paper. In addition, if I did find an article, I was going
