Social media influences such areas as internal and external communications, recruiting, organizational learning and collaboration, and more. Social media platforms are information-based tools and technologies used to share information and facilitate communications with internal and external audiences. Well-known examples of social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, but social media can take many different forms. Many businesses understand the pros and cons of social media. A few of the positive results includes social media provides quick access to individual information and conveys a level transparency. It also opens business to potential candidates seeking employment using various social media sites like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. The downside is that sometimes the information contain within employee profiles on the social media may not be credible and needs to be verified through by third party source. Workforce Planning & Development Workforce planning, can be defined as the process of anticipating and making provision to the business workforce. As business grow changes to workforce will be needed. Informed decision will be made when regarding the acquisition and maintenance of the right numbers and qualifications of personnel for meeting the performance needs of the business organization. The primary focus of Workforce planning is to enable the business organization to maximize the operation of its human resources team by ensuring that the right number of people, with the right skills, are ready, able and willing to work at the right time. In a nutshell workforce planning is one element within the Organizations' strategic planning process. Workforce planning should be done with the purpose of aligning the main purpose of the business with organization strategic plan.
