BUILDING SERVICES The Facilities Department ensures that the college environment is safe and comfortable. If you notice anything on campus that you would consider unsafe or if there is a building-related matter (e.g. your immediate environment is too hot or too cold, lights are burned out, a sink or toilet is stopped up), please notify the Building Services Manager as soon as possible. Contact the Building Services Manager at ext. 5617 or email [email protected], Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. SAFE WALK Security on campus offers employees a safe walk service to parking lots. To schedule an evening or late night safe walk, contact Security at 604.562.1011. Learn more. - walk.html LOST AND FOUND The Langara College Information Kiosk, located inside the main lobby of A Building, provides students, employees, and visitors with answers to their questions. All lost and found enquiries should also be directed to the Kiosk. To report a lost or found item, visit the Kiosk, call 604.323.5686, or email [email protected] Hours of operation are generally Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Learn more. Safety comes first.

11 Emergencies and security. EMERGENCY FIRST AID If you come upon an emergency life-threatening situation, dial 9-911 for police, fire, or ambulance service (if using an internal phone) or call 911 if using a pay or cell phone. As soon as you have dialed 911, call Security so they can assist the police. Please note the following Security contact information: • Emergency/First Aid , internal line ext. 4444 or YELLOW emergency phone • Security Office and voicemail: ext. 5270 • Security, off campus: 604.562.1011 • Email: [email protected] Ensure that the accident scene is safe to minimize further danger to the injured person or yourself. Do not move the injured person unless there is a high risk of further injury. Keep calm. Do not leave the patient unattended. If the injured patient is able to walk, escort them to Health Services on the first floor of B Building, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, or the Continuing Studies Office after 4:30 pm (except Fridays). If the patient cannot or does not want to walk to Health Services, contact College First Aid by calling ext. 4444 . Give the exact location and nature of the injury. A first aid attendant will respond. Stay with the injured person until the first aid attendant arrives. Follow the attendant’s instructions after he/she arrives. If you find any unusual circumstance such as a door left open that should be locked, or if you notice any suspicious occurrence or person, please contact Security right away. Report all incidents of theft or suspected theft to Security immediately. If you have concerns or suggestions regarding workplace health or safety, or if you need to report unsafe work practices or conditions, please contact a member of the Health and Safety Committee.
