It also made me think about how everyone’s rainbow looks so different from one another. I realize that many others my age have already graduated from university, but I am okay with this since everyone moves at their own pace. I have already assumed most of the life roles listed, except for the “parent” stage. I am excited to begin that new step of my life, but I am not in any rush to get there since I would like to graduate, travel, and advance further in my career. The first advantage I would like to mention is that this exercise can clearly outline some obstacles that a client has gone through and things that they have overcome. It also can show them what they have achieved in life and which roles they have expected. By creating a visual of these roles, a person gains perspective which can lead to figuring out exactly how to balance them.Along with advantages, this exercise also comes with disadvantages. I would like to point out that it might not be insightful to all people. Some might end up dwelling on the past and losing focus of their goals. The exercise can be unmotivating since some people might focus more on the past and less on their future. Another disadvantage I noticed was that not everyone assumes all roles and the rainbow might not be applicable to all. Everyone leads a very different life, which means that this model might not suit everyone’s needs and might not show an accurate portrayal of every person’s life.3.Super’s theory involves two major concepts: life roles and life stages.
