Data set 3Like the UHDDS there is also the UACDS which is the uniform ambulatory care data set. This was approved by the national committee on vital and health statistics. The UACDS & UHDDS both have a lot of similarities in the healthcare field. The UACDS has information like the provider identification, reason for the encounter, place of the encounter, diagnosing services etc. Ambulatory care is when the patient receives care in a medical office, same day surgery center, hospital/acute hospital outpatient services, or even the emergency room. With having ambulatory services, it gives the opportunity to improve healthcare providers the chance to collect data and compare it with others. This gives the chance to help analyze patterns of care as well. However, this is not being incorporated into the federal regulations.Just like the other two data services that are listed above we also have the minimum data set (MDS) for long-term are just as important. This is a standardized screening and assessment told that is used to form the foundation of the comprehensive assessment for the patient within Medicare/ Medicaid certified long term care facility. “
