However Colin tries to tell Ally that this is not a typical girl, because he feels if this is an “ideal” girl he would be sleeping with her, which is his personal construct that this girl is an easy person to sleep with. Also “What’s Your Number,” in itself is a personal construct because it shows us how a romantic comedic relationship should occur, however we all know that many time relationship to not turn out the way we want them or the way that the media portrays relationships. In everyday life we are always constantly building constructs. From the way people dress, socialize, and how people work, we constantly categorize people, and build ort frame of reference about them. I feel the easiest place to see a construct is in dating. For example when we date people there are some that we are attracted to and others not so much. So how come we are attracted to some and not others, because we build construct about that person. This person contain examples of qualities that we find attractive, with this we learned this over time. This goes along with Hines studies in that constructs are not natural or spontaneous, that we learn, construct are intentional, and are goal-oriented. For example we would not talk to someone who we are romantically
