The city council for Lubbock, TX adopted a bill of ordinance for property maintenance under Sec. 34.02.03 general regulations. These regulations are set in place to keep our environment safe and clean. Environmental services will monitor the properties to ensure the environment is kept safe. It is stated within section A, that it is unlawful to cause a nuisance on a property within the city limits. A nuisance can be anything causing danger to human life and health. Section B discuses weed maintenance, which should grow no longer than 8 inches. This could be a danger because the ground cannot clearly be seen which could put anyone in danger. Section C discusses the prober disposal of rubbish/brush, which can includetrash, debris, rubble, etc. Section D is titled illegal dumping. People must dispose of their waste appropriately in order to maintain a safe environment.I agree with this legislation because it helps keep our environment clean and safe. Having unknown trash in the area can especially be a danger to our environment. We do not know what toxins are within some of the things people dump. It is important to dispose of waste appropriately. If our environment is clean and safe, we have a better chance at maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
