criticized but if a disaster occurs and they are not fully prepared, they couldbring the company to its knees. 2016).The article I found is titled:The Bullwhip Effect and Your Supply Chain. Itfocuses on the human factors behind the bullwhip effect, and how they aremostly related to fear. The main example the author uses is that of a person’s perception of the stockmarket, and being afraid to lose money or just be wrong about their decisionmaking. Emotions, especially fear or anger, are not constructive parts of soundfinancial decisions (Misso, 2014). This is certainly true when the market takes alarge loss and the sudden urge is to pull all of your money out.The second example comes from market timing. Even the best experts have notfound a foolproof way to ensure they time their buying and selling with the flowof the market (Misso, 2014). If you were to Google a picture of the Dow Jonesover the last 100 years, you would see all the ups and downs the market hasexhibited over a century. The only true lesson about the market is that it willrise, and it will fall, over and over again.Key behaviors during hard times are to make sure your managers are makinglogical decisions and sticking to the business plan, and to take the opportunityto add some safety stock/inventory (not every piece that’s left on the planet) toensure you’re getting a deal while the prices are low (Misso, 2014). Riding thewave, instead of trying to drive through it will pay off in the long run.References:Business Dictionary.com. (2016).Bullwhip Effect. Retrieved February 4, 2016from Misso, B.
