November of 2003 rolled around and Michael was facing more child molestation charges. Michael went to trial in 2005 for 5 months and was proven innocent on all charges. Four years later, Michael announced his This Is It tour with 50 concerts in London at the O2 arena. Only three months after, Michael had a heart attack in Los Angeles and was pronounced dead on June 25 th 2009, at age 50 (Michael Jackson: A Timeline 2009). If there was one thing Michael Jackson loved to do, it was to help children and the world in general. Michael founded the “Heal the World Foundation” in 1992. The foundation was made to help fight world hunger, provide medicine for children, and to fight drug, alcohol, and child abuse. With the
Smelser 3 foundation, Michael received multiple donations from his sponsors, like Pepsi, who donated $100,000 to the charity. In November of 1992, Michael observed the loading of 47 tons of clothes, medicine, and other various items that was being sent to Sarajevo. All the items sent totaled to 2.1 million dollars. It is very clear to see that with Michael creating this charity he saved thousands of lives, just with the few contributions mentioned in this paragraph (Michaeljacksonlegacy.org). Not only did Michael try to help the world, he took interest in helping individual families. A mother threw her two-year old son and his four-year old brother over a bridge, then jumping over herself. The mother and four-year old survived, but the two-year old, Craig, did not. Michael requested to attend Craig’s funeral. The four-year old named Michael, was beaten up pretty bad, so Michael
