To Have Age Limits or Not 3 show self-control with a drinking limit when drinking in bars, restaurants and other licensed locations the idea would be real. When we as adults, eighteen and older, can prove to be responsible only then should laws be changed. Lastly, there are fewer drunk driving traffic accidents and fatalities in many countries with MLDA of eighteen. I find it interesting that in 1984 the US rate of traffic accidents and fatalities in the 1980s decreased less than that of European countries whose legal drinking age are lower than 21[Pro17]. After doing some research, I noticed the lower age limit in other countries compared to the number of fatalities didn’t differ from the US[WHO14]. If science did a study in the United States over a period on eighteen to twenty-year-olds drinking and monitored their actions, I might agree that this idea is true. One cannot change this all in a moment, but with time and studies, we will see if the age changes. In conclusion, whether we change or keep the MLDA, we should all be careful and safe with consuming any alcoholic drinks. The eighteen-year-olds are adults according to United States laws and should make good choices if they can drink alcohol legally. If all locations with liquor license hired more security, it could be possible decrease hazardous drinking. With no substantial evidence that adults twenty-one and older I could see the politicians lowering the law. Ultimately, only time will tell if the United States will keep or lower their age of drinking but until then, please be safe and drink responsibly.
