The six elements that should be included in the statement of the individualized services
and supports for Bella’s IEP include, the type of services and supports the student needs,
the frequency (how often) in which the services and supports should be provided, the
duration (how long) of the services and supports, the person responsible for providing the
services and supports, the environment (where) in which the services and supports will be
provided, and lastly the service start and end dates.
Explain the importance of monitoring a student’s progress toward meeting
his or her IEP goals and reporting that progress to parents.

The importance of monitoring a student’s progress toward meeting his/her IEP goals is
that progress monitoring is a reliable and valid representation of the student’s
development as well as a guide to show the effectiveness of instruction. Reporting the
