Each tutorial has two parts: 1) Questions for discussion: the questions listed in the “Concept Questions” Section will be selected, and 2) In class exercise/demonstration: the “Q&P questions” listed in the table. 2. Every effort should be made to read regularly (preferably daily) “market” related news in The Wall Street Journal , The Financial Times , Hong Kong Economic Journal and The South China Morning Post . 3. The 20% assignments assessment components include 10 individual assignments (1.5 marks each) and one group assignment (5 marks). ** The question numbers refer to the latest edition of the designated textbook (please refer to the textbook table on page 2 of this document). Assignments submission method should refer to your lecturer’s arrangement. Deadline of each assignment normally will be set as one week after completion of the topic and will be announced by lecturer in class. Late submission may receive no marks. If Moodle platform is adopted by your lecturer, students should learn the uploading steps properly (DO ATTACH your file(s)!), and check for lecturer’s message of Moodle regarding assignment upload issue regularly. Policy on plagiarism offence : Plagiarism is a serious academic offence. It involves both stealing other people’s work and lying about it afterward. Penalty for plagiarism is as follows: 1. zero mark is given to the particular assignment for the first time offence; 2. zero mark is given to the whole module (which could be different from that of the first offence) for repeated offence and 3. expulsion from school if the student is found committing it for the third time. Record of offence would be kept in the computer system for monitoring of repeated offence. A warning letter would be issued to the student concerned, and the misconduct would be indicated in his/her academic records.
