Surname 6 passionate about it. However, the administration thinks that Rock and Roll are all about breakdown and disappointment (Lattimore 24 ). In organizations, employees are likely to resist change since no one is willing to break routines. The final issue is related to the topic of conflict. Conflict is a phenomenon where individual feels that their interest or opinions are being rejected or opposed by another person or party. Conflict can be caused by ineffective communication, differentiation, incompatible goals or interdependence. Mr. Holland feels that it is due to his prior disagreement with the principal that he has influenced the School Board to reduce the budget for teaching art subjects including music (Lattimore 26 ). This kind of conflict can cause severe outcomes such as poor performance, or it can as well kill a person’s morale. In this situation, the conflict is between individuals and not issues. As a manager one should be able to solve the conflict between employees by focusing on the problems and not the individuals. Conflict between staff or employees under the same department is risky since it leads to delays in projects. Some employees can refuse to add their input to a task allocated to a group or team because of conflicts of interest.
