13The reasoning behind everything controversial Lenin did, particularly rejecting communist views, was to support his prized lower-class Russians.Before we can make great statement about the personalities of our leaders or their impact on our society, we must look at the core values and actions of the leader, whether they were fighting for power to help themselves or put the issues they valued in front. As historians, we can conclude from this that Lenin was more of a leader to the poor than to the communists. Even though he used communism views to gain poor supporters, communism to him was only a way to bring solve his problems. The underprivileged were just as much of an influence on Lenin’s leadership as his power was on their lives. He wanted to be a leader, so he turned to a struggling, impoverished population to be an audience for his exertion of power and influence. If Lenin did not keep the impoverished a significant issue in mind while making executive demonstrations, things would have turned up a lot different. Maybe there wouldn’t be a Communist Russia since Lenin relied on the poor to be his army. On the other hand, maybe Russians would be living in a more stable communist civilization if Lenin would’ve chosen to focus more on the foundations of communism instead of indulging on the poor. Or, the drastic case of them all, Lenin might not have ever became a leader. We will never know what could have been, but we can 13Ibid, 31
