Missed Exams Make-up exams will NOT be permitted for unexcused absences. Exams may be made up for excused reasons. (See the attendance policy for details of what is considered excused and required documentation). Late Work I do not accept late written assignments unless it is due to an excused absence. All assignments are due by the deadline outlined below and on Canvas. A problem with your technology, being too busy, forgetting, or having a heavy workload are not acceptable excuses. Grading: Course grades will be assigned based on a traditional grading scheme. Students who have earned: o 465 to 500 points earned = A o 450 to 464 points earned = A- o 435 to 449 points earned = B+ o 415 to 434 points earned = B o 400 to 414 points earned = B- o 385 to 399 points earned = C+ o 365 to 384 points earned = C o 350 to 364 points earned = C- o 335 to 349 points earned = D+ o 315 to 334 points earned = D o 300 to 314 points earned = D- o 0 to 299 points earned = F A = Achievement significantly above requirements

B = Achievement over and above requirements C = Meets basic course requirements D = Does not meet requirements, but effort is worthy of credit F = Work neither meets requirements, nor is worthy of credit There is absolutely no rounding-up of grades. For example, if a student is .001 away from a B-, the student has earned a C in the course, not a B-. Do not ask your instructor for extra credit or to round your grade up to the next letter grade. Course Requirement Descriptions: Quizzes Quizzes are worth ten points each. There will be nine total quizzes throughout the quarter. The quizzes are to be completed by the deadlines noted in Canvas and are meant to check that you are staying up on your assigned readings. Exams There will be two exams given throughout the course. The exams will consist of: true/false, multiple-choice, and matching questions. Exams are NOT cumulative. There will be a review guides and example questions provided prior to each exam. All exams are to be taken during the designated times. Exam answers will not be shared, but you are welcome to contact me or come in during office hours to address questions if desired. After starting the exam, students will have two hours to complete all questions. After two hours have elapsed, the exam will be terminated and graded based on the answers provided. Make sure you have two hours to devote to taking the exam, and a reliable internet connection, before starting the exam . Technical difficulties will not be considered a viable excuse for failing to complete the exam. Discussion Boards Online discussion via Canvas on Discussions is an essential learning activity in this course. There will be eight total discussion threads throughout the quarter, with participation in each being worth up to five points. For a guide on how to use Discussions on Canvas please visit: For each topic, I will provide questions that you will respond to. Substantive posting is a required component of this course. All postings in response to discussion questions should be on point, concise, and succinct. Don’t simply repeat the class materials. You are expected to
