(Nehemiah 2:17, English Standard Version). Some have defined vision as foresight with insight based on hindsight. Vision includes these key components (Hindson. E, 2017, p198): 1. Realistic view of the present. 2. Optimistic view of the future. 3. Honest assessment of one’s resources 4. Positive attitude about change. 5. Specific plan of action. Nehemiah maintains his steadfast vision and the Jews follows his lead. This is how leadership works and is later demonstrated by Jesus Christ. You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them (John 13:13-17, ESV). Plan of Action : He understands the power of his vision the keeps he focused and that allows Nehemiah to be able to provide a clear plan of action. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10, ESV).
