Methodology and Result 5 For a glucosidase assay all experiment were treated three times. Each experiment were triplicate, means, standard deviation and percentage of error were calculated using Microsoft excel. With no error above 15 % accepted. RESULTS Plants selected Based on the criteria mentioned above, 19 plants were selected for as long as the candidate plant was native, grown in Saudi Arabia and could be collected and available for collection in sufficient quantity for laboratory study. Rich. Belong ) Euphorbiaceae ( Euphorbia hirta L., Euphorbia cuneata Vahl., Euphorbia retus) Lamiaceae ( Nepeta deflersiana Schweinf )

Methodology and Result 6 Leguminosae ( Acacia gerrardii Benth, Acacia ehrenbergiana Hayne, Tephrosia nubica (Boiss.) Bak ) Aloe armatissima and Acacia gerradi were excluded because they are endangered species in Saudi Arabia (CBD, 2002). Olea europaea, Rumex nervosa, caralluma quadrangula, Tarchonanthus camphoratus and Verbesina encelioides are well studies pharmacologically and phytochemically. Moreover, the 3 Euphoria species and Acacia ehrenbergiana were also excluded as the genus of these species was also covered extensively in literature. Therefore, the plants which were left included Anisotes trisulcus, Barbeya oleoides Capparis sinaica, Caralluma retrospeciens Maerua crassifolia, Maerua oblongifolia and Nepeta deflersiana .
