REMESO are involved both in basic and Ph.D. education within the wider range of academic subjects (sociology, political and business economics, political science, anthropology, history, communication, education) covered by its staff and particularly as oriented towards studies on work, welfare, economy, education, migration and ethnic relations. A crucial channel for dissemination of research will be the open REMESO Research School , which will give interdisciplinary courses to advanced national and international MA and PhD students enrolled into Graduate programs at LIU and other accredited universities in Sweden and abroad (for further details see appendix xxx about the REMESO Research School). Capacity building REMESO will serve as a hub for building and maintaining a number of both regional, national and international networks in which REMESO staff participates and su- pervise. These networks vary from pure research networks to mixed networks made up of both policymakers, interest groups, NGOs/INGOs as well as researchers. (For more information on networks see appendix xxx.) REMESO has also, through its close connection to the National Institute for Working Life a readily accessible institutional infrastructure in all the major cities in the country as well as in Östersund and on Gotland, for swift arrangement of seminars, workshops, collaborative conferences and so forth. In this way REMESO can utilize an already existing strong capacity for disseminating research and creating settings for exchange of knowledge outside its main location in the Linköping/Norrköping region, to different stakeholders and interests in society.

The organisational chart provides an overview of REMESO’s management structure. The organisation responsible for the administration of the centre’s budget is ISV (Institute for Social and Welfare Research). The centre director is the main scientifically responsible for the development of the centre in relation to FAS and the partnership organisations (LiU/NIWL). In co- operation with and supported by the management committee s/he will be responsible for the organising and running the day to day affairs of the centre. S/he will be responsible for the centre’s overall budget and, in cooperation with and supported by the management committee and the administrator, prepare annual plans for development (verksamhetsplaner) of the centre as well as progress reports to FAS and LiU/NIWL.
