Because of the resources that social media allows us to have access to, it is easy to reach a large audience at once to promote a product or service. I work solely from my cell phone and laptop, so without these my business would almost be nonexistent considering all of my business partners are from other states and countries and my customers are also from elsewhere. I would have never been able to promote my product and share my experiences with them if it weren't for social media. My business allows me to have an extra income, which is huge as a college student. Social media influencing is my career goal, so I rely heavily on technology to be successful and for my business to thrive. Topic 7 DQ 2 Do you believe the long-term consequences of increased technological dependence are going to be good or bad? Explain. How do you see technology's effect on society 20 years from now? Technological dependence long-term consequences depends on society itself and can affect everyone differently. For those who do not benefit from technology greatly, it may not impact
them if they live a minimalist life. For those who rely on technology, it will impact them in a positive way because life becomes easier and more efficient. However, this leaves a limited space for personal skills because technology can take over those skills. In 20 years from now, technology will allow for life to be easier and more efficient. However, new technology is limiting jobs. For example, a lot of restaurants have tablets and kiosks to take orders now, replacing actual employees. However, there are now jobs needed to service this technology.
