To add UNIX/Linux client types to servers after initial installation 1 Use one of the following methods to start the installation script: Insert the NetBackup UNIX Clients DVD into the drive. See “About the NetBackup media kit” on page 15. If necessary, mount the DVD. See “About mounting the NetBackup software media” on page 36. Enter the following command: dvd_directory /install The dvd_directory is the path to the directory where you can access the DVD. Do you wish to continue? [y,n] (y) The client binaries represent the operating system versions where the binaries were compiled. The binaries typically function perfectly on later versions of the operating system. For example, HP PA-RISC 11.11 binaries also are used on the HP PA-RISC 11.23 level of the operating system. The installation procedure attempts to load the appropriate binaries for your system. If the script does not recognize the local operating system, it presents choices. 3 Select the client type that you want to load and follow the prompts to install that client type. Repeat as necessary until all of the client types you want are loaded. Make sure that you load the software for all of the UNIX/Linux client types that you intend to install remotely from the server. 4 After the installation is complete, unmount the DVD. 5 Install the NetBackup client software on the clients you specified.
