Diagram Tool:The data modeling tool ER Assistant will be used to create an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) of the proposed Upscale customer tracking database. The purpose of the ERD will be to create a graphical representation of the customer tracking database and illustrate the logical structure of the database. The
ERD will clearly show the entities such as people, objects or concepts, for which Upscale wants to store and track information about. Each entities properties or characteristic called attributes will clearly be identified through the ERD diagram. In addition, the ERD diagram will show how the entities act upon each other or are associated with each, which is known as relationships and their cardinality. Database:The Upscale customer tracking database will be created through Oracle 11g which is an object-relational database management system. The Oracle 11g database will be accessed using Virtual Desktop Applications (VDA)Hardware and Software:ER Assistant: data modeling software for creating, editing, and printing an ERDOracle SQL Developer: user-friendly interface for connecting to the database and for running the queries and SQL scripts.VMware Horizon client: software used to act as the broker between the clients desktop and the VDA where the Upscale database will be located.
