confidence. Lastly, the turning point for Rachel was when she finally comes to a realization ¨I haven't really thought very much. I was always afraid of what I might think -so it seemed safer not to think at all. But now I know¨ (111). She had finally come to the realization that she had the control over what she wants to think and nobody else. She no longer was trapped in her fathers thinking and was now free. Rachel had gained the courage to once and for all make a decision on her own without second guessing herself due to the fear of what others might think or do. Clearly, it was a process for her but most importantly she got there. Henry Drummond through out they play exhibits his value for the right to obtain knowledge, and to think. For instance, when Drummond was questioning Brady on the stand, he says sarcastically ¨It frightens me to imagine the state of learning in this world if everyone had your driving curiosity¨ 81 Drummond brings to light, that Brady is not
