C3. Primary Prevention TopicMy primary prevention topic I chose to be the most important for Sentinel City is Physical Activity. “Regular physical activity can improve the health and quality of life of Americans of all ages, regardless of the presence of a chronic disease or disability”[Hea171]. The main goal of my prevention topic is to get children and adults to be more active by creating more outdoor structural environments for the population.
C228 TASK 1 10D. ReflectionSentinel City taught me how to do a windshield survey by going through the virtual community, and taking note of the issues that lay below the surface. No one wants to focus on the bad of their community, sometimes we just do not want to take note of it. By looking at the figures of Sentinel City it brought to light some issues that I might not have seen by just walking through the town. Being a county health nurse, I have access to statistics of my community, and have the means to set up programs to help my community. I really want to work towards setting up more education in our schools. Targeting the younger population in my community to set up healthy lifestyle goal’s that will last them a life time.
