he seemed to be a motivated broadcast because he stayed live through the event until it was too much for him to handle. When it was dangerous he told others to move but it was difficult to tell if he himself moved. As far as the audience, multiple times during the broadcast he is addressing the recording as “ladies and gentlemen” so it can be assumed that the broadcast was being transmitted to regular citizens listening in on the event who were unable to make it. He also addresses “Charlie” who must have been an associate of his who was present during the time of the event as well. With research it was concluded that the Charlie in the broadcast was Charlie Nelson, an engineer who was sent with him for the broadcasting. 4. Does Morrison’s version of the event match what you see in the video? What differences can you see between the two? What similarities are there? Morrison's version of the event matches the video of the vent closely except for the backstory. If there were the ten minutes to land Morrison would have gone into the details of the aircraft but as everyone agrees the horrible tragedy happened unexpectedly. The video mentioned high winds and previous storms that had to be avoided similarly to Morrison’s mention of rains. 5. How credible is Herbert Morrison’s report? Support your answer with quotes from the broadcast, video, and any research you have conducted. Morrison’s coverage of the event was very credible as it was a primary source of an unexpected and tragic event. Through Morrison’s recording the true shock and reaction from the event was recorded the second it took place. The recording also states that “ all the folks agree that this is terrible; this is the one of the worst catastrophes in the world.” so it provides the opinion of more than one person at the time. It is still unsure if it was raining because it is possible that the rain that Morrison described was the water dropping considering that the aircraft already avoided the storm.
