When I asked her what information from her job that she uses in every day life that she believes should be more common knowledge she told me “Reading your labels is key. This profession taught me how to read and understand the information on the labels of medication so I can have an even better understanding of OTC medications and be positive of what I am putting into my body.” I believe that was the most valuable piece of information she gave me. The most important skills she relayed to me were our accuracy with calculating a day supply of medicine, always double checking your math, checking the labels for accuracy with prescription dosage and building a good relationship with your pharmacist to set the foundation of a safe and friendly work environment. When asked about whether or not she has a fear of ever making a mistake, her response was “I am not afraid to make a mistake because I make sure

Never be afraid to ask for help or a second opinion because lives are important and what you do is playing a part in someone else’s life. Read the directions, come to an understanding with your companies’ policies and follow your guidelines.
