Form: When students are actively participating in discussions, they learn to listen and share thoughts related to the topic. Instructional Materials, Equipment and Technology: - Timer device. - Printed Questions from the Movie. - Collection of students’ notecard questions. - Laptop (as backup) to research online for specific information if needed. Grouping: No grouping of students necessary. II. INSTRUCTION A. Opening Prior knowledge connection: Check and collect for student’s responses for the questions raised during the movie. Organize and filter the notecard questions turned in by the students. Anticipator y set: Students will learn to participate and be engaged actively in discussion. Students will also use the learned concept/language from this unit within their responses. B. Learning and Teaching Activities (Teaching and Guided Practice): I Do Students Do Differentiation 1. Explain the rules and parameters of the discussion. Distribute the written response randomly and anonymously to students. 2. Repeat and state the questions raised during the movie. 3. State the questions raised in each notecard and facilitate the discussion. 1. Students will listen and raised questions regarding the rules and parameters of the discussion. 2. Students will read the response they have in hand and volunteer to share the response. 3. Students will actively engage oneself during discussion and share their thoughts. Students will all be able to participate in discussion without restrictions. 10
Mentor Analysis III. ASSESSMENT Summative Assessment : The teacher will assess the students through their responses and participation level during the discussion. Differentiation: None (Teacher should allow for equal opportunity to participate in the discussion.) Closure: Let students know that the next class will require them to dress properly as they will be learning and practicing skills of self-defense. Homework: Not applicable. Rules and Parameters of Class Discussions Movie Responses 1. No one should be getting their own paper. 2. Read through the response and share what’s on the paper not your own thoughts. 3. Don’t point out the original responder even if you know who they are. Notecard Questions 1. Each question will allot for 5 mins of response time.
