This is mostly a positive, but it can be stressful trying to figure out how to do everything without much structure while also trying to meet the firm’s high expectations. You have to be a self-starter to succeed here.” • “MTO is likely the best, or among the handful of best, large law firms in the country to work for as an associate. Work opportunities are unparalleled, colleagues are brilliant, culture is responsive, cases are constantly headlining. It still suffers of course from some of the same plagues of any large law firm work environment.” • “The people here are great. The firm’s organizational structure/management sometimes leaves something to be desired.” • “Lots of responsibility early on. Pleasant people to work with. The firm has a tendency to take on litigation matters that are outside our core experiences, which leads to a lot of challenges for associates because we are expected to fill in the gaps in the partners’ knowledge. We could also use more support staff, as they seem to be constantly at full capacity, leaving associates to have to pick up the slack.” Firm Culture • “The firm is full of kind and bright people. There are a lot of firm functions, and we get together pretty frequently, including twice weekly lunches.” • “The firm’s culture is friendly and collegial. Being a person with a life outside the firm is encouraged, especially since it is family-friendly. People here are interested in the world, engaged in the community, and a joy to be around. Associates are valued and treated as folks with an ownership stake in the firm, even if we aren’t partners yet. Everyone is treated with respect and consideration attorneys and staff alike.” • “Lawyers socialize together at the biweekly ‘Sherry Sips,’ which are happy hours organized in each office. The out-of- the-office Sips are the most fun, and the best chance to get to know your colleagues. There are also firm lunches twice a week, as well as a number of community events at which MTO will have a table, and at which you can chat with your colleagues about their interests.” • “Munger attorneys are not necessarily the most social people, but the firm has many social rituals such as the all attorney lunches several days a week, the sherry sips, dinners, philanthropic events, and retreats, to name a few. Attorneys enjoy each other’s company outside of work.” Associate/Partner Relations • “Complete transparency is the firm’s general policy. Copies of monthly financial statements are distributed to every associate and all associates have a vote on recruiting and other major firm decisions. Associates are expected and encouraged to participate actively in the firm’s committees.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
