goods were able to ship faster, the cost wasn’t as expensive, and it was easy/reliable to use. All in All, the US drastically changed into an isolationist nation that did not want to interfere with other countries into an imperialist power that expanded in order to acquire new lands, materials, and markets. Becoming an imperialist power was all because the US saved Cuba, Hawaii, and the Philippines from oppression by spain and because of the great increase in US foreign trade in billions! And lastly, the Panama Canal was a major reason the US became an imperialist power because it helped trade goods with other countries more efficiently. Still today, the US is thriving and becoming an even bigger imperialist power than we were before during the 20th century because we have so much more land that we claim as our’s and we have an increase in the economy.
