This will establish a close bond between a doctor and a physician where the patient will feel comfortable telling the doctor about their problems and the current medicines they are taking. Besides building a bond creating a cultural competency is just as important to create a great relationship among the doctor and patient. This will enable the doctors to listen to the patients and be open to their beliefs. This will help to eliminate the disparities in healthcare administered to individuals because of cultural differences due to different customs or beliefs. Dr. Yee is an acculturated Chinese- American who has adopted the medical practices in the Unites States. His patient Mr. Yost is less acculturated to the western practices of Dr. Yee because he is more accustomed to the eastern practices. Even though Mr. Yost is less acculturated to the western medical practices through establishing trust and using cultural competency he can help educate Mr. Yost on the effectiveness of western medicines on his current condition (Office of Minority Health, 2005). As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
